Ideas for Morning and Evening Routines

As humans, we thrive on schedules and a lot of times for events. For me personally, I love having morning and evening routines, as it helps me realize what is the current day of the week, and what I need to get done within that day. Today on Inspired by Diane, I will be telling you all some ideas I have for you for your morning and evening routines. I think it is extremely important to invest in yourself, and the best way to invest in yourself is to have a morning and/or evening routine that best fits you and your lifestyle. Let's get started!

Morning Routine Ideas

These ideas are versatile not only for the weekdays, but also the weekends.

  • Free write in your journal for 5 minutes about anything

  • Stretch

  • Make yourself some sort of caffeine, whether it would be coffee or tea

  • Write out a to-do list of what you have to do that day

  • Prep your lunches and snacks for that day, or the next few days

  • Do a 5-10 minute yoga flow, or just 5-10 minutes of deep breathing exercises

  • Make yourself a smoothie

  • Take a walk around your neighborhood — enjoy the fresh air

Evening Routine Ideas

Most of these evening rituals are ones I include in my evening routine, as they help me wind down from the day I had & prep me for the day to come.

  • Prep your clothes for the next day (makes the following morning easier)

  • Wash your face with a facial cleanser

  • Do an evening skincare routine

  • Clean your space, so you don't have to wake up to mess

  • Get some fresh air outside

  • Do some sort of activity to refuel you (a hobby, watching tv, playing a game, etc)

  • Make yourself a calming drink, like chamomile tea

  • Moisturize your hands + feet so that they are fully moisturized when you wake up

  • If I am feeling up to it — writing a to-do list for the following day, so you know what's coming up
