My Review of the Ipsy Bag

Subscription bags & boxes seem to be all the rage in the current “treat yo self” era.

Ipsy has been stepping up their game lately with their subscription services and bag quality. I figured other people would want my honest opinion on the ipsy bag, as I have been an ipsy member since April 2017. Want my review? Then keep on reading!

Alright, so I am going to break up this review into five categories: Bag Quality, Content Quality, Personalization, Content Variety and Member Perks. Let’s get into it!

Bag Quality

Being a member since April 2017, I’ve seen some amazing bags in terms of quality and some, well, not so much. Every bag sticks to a theme that ipsy picks out for that month. It’s very interesting to see how the curators integrate the monthly theme with the bag design. Some months, not all the contents fit in the bag - but that’s okay! I love when I get bigger products, like face masks or a spray, because it means I get to keep it for longer.

I use my ipsy bags as a travel size makeup bag, and sometimes even toiletries. I even had some of my co-workers say that they like my bag! Another idea to re-purpose the ipsy bag is to fill them up with different hygienic essentials (ex. socks, toothbrush/toothpaste, soap, etc.) and give them to those who need it. It’s a great way to re-use what you have, and give it to someone else in need.

Bag Quality: 8/10

Content Quality

The content quality is AMAZING for the price you pay for the bag. Ipsy has partnered with over 300+ retailers to bring their customers both variety, and also amazing quality. And I can honestly say that every month, I have received a product from a brand I’ve been waiting to buy. The Balm Cosmetics, the insta-famous Sand & Sky Mud Mask, you name it - Ipsy has it.

I get so excited when I see that pink ipsy mailer in my mailbox. It’s like Christmas every month!

Content Variety

Recently, Ipsy has stepped up their game with the variety of beauty products. You can update your beauty preferences at any time in the app or online. Like I mentioned about with the style quiz, there are ways to get different products in your bag each month. Did you know that you can add on travel size products to your monthly ipsy bag for $3 each item? You can also add full size products to your bag for $12 each item. It's like you're customizing your own ipsy bag!!

Member Perks

There are so many perks to being a member of the ipsy Glam Bag. For one, there is a “Shopper” feature on their website and their app, which allows you to buy products that have parterned with ipsy, and the products are at a discounted rate since you are buying them through ipsy. How cool is that?

Also, by reviewing your products monthly, those reviews rack up into points. I believe each review of each product is +15 points. Earning points is so easy, ipsy spells it out for you. 250 points can be earned when a friend subscribes to the Glam bag with your referral link. You can redeem these points as bonus beauty products in your ipsy bag.

Overall Opinion of the Ipsy Bag

If you are on the fence about getting a beauty box subscription, jump over to YES and then make a hop and a skip over to the ipsy bag bandwagon. Too extra? Maybe... but I'm that serious about getting this beauty bag!

I truly look forward to getting my ipsy bag once a month, and I believe it is a great value bag with great quality products. I use the bags all the time to store different makeup looks in my purse. It also makes organization super easy, since you get a cute bag and amazing makeup once a month. Talk about a win win.
