10 More Tricks I Learned from TikTok
It's 2021, and TikTok is still in full force, pumping out popular trends and songs every minute. Have any of you actually learned something from TikTok., though? Y'all loved my last blog post 10 Photography Tricks I Learned from TikTok, so today I wanted to do a generalized blog post about 10 more tricks I learned from TikTok. Let's get started!
#1: Get rid of the orange residue on your pans with Bar Keepers Friend
This was a life hack I didn’t know I needed until I saw it. It’s very true that my pans turn orange after using cooking spray on them. Turns out that Bar Keepers Friend is a great agent to use, so you can get the orange residue off of your stainless steel pots & pans.
After washing the pan with a regular sponge and dish soap, sprinkle the Bar Keepers Friend all over the pan, and use a Scrub Daddy brush to clean the pan. But first, you must get the surface wet & rub the powder in it gently. Also - make sure to rinse within a minute and dry.
After I saw how her pan turned out, I definitely wanted to try this trick for myself! Let me know if you try it out.
#2: How to redeem a Tuesday Baker’s Dozen from Panera for only $6.99
People! Do not sleep on the Panera app! You can order your bagels up to two weeks in advance, so this is an ultimate time saver for moms too!
After you go on the Panera app, choose your location & your pick-up time and date. Make sure that this is a Tuesday to get the bakers’ dozen deal! Once this is done, scroll down to the bakery section and find “Tuesday Baker’s Dozen” for $6.99.
You can choose if your bagels are sliced & toasted, sliced, or left alone. If you don’t know what a baker’s dozen is, it essentially is 13 of whatever bakery item the baker “made too much of,” hence the baker’s dozen. So you get 13 Panera bagels for $6.99. That is an insane deal!!
Don’t sleep on this trick, and let me know how it works out for you!
Let me know in the comments which Panera bagel is your favorite! Mine is the cinnamon crunch.
#3: The best way to level-up your flower arrangement
I don’t typically put flower arrangements in my house, due to my allergies, but this trick to level-up your flower arrangement is a game changer.
Just a pro tip! Make sure you cut the end of the stems at a 45° angle, and also trim any little green leaves that would be in the water.
This trick is not only going to make it easier to arrange your flowers, but also make the vase look more full, without having to use multiple bouquets of flowers.
If you have flower food, put that in the vase first and then add water. You're going to need Scotch tape for this trick, and make a grid on the top of the vase. Once you have your grid taped out, fill in the gaps of the grid with your flowers.
The tape supports the flowers & it also makes it so the flowers don't fall over as you assemble the arrangement. This is a great way to level up the simple flower arrangement on your dining table!
#4: Free certifications for marketers
If you are a marketer, or are in the marketing field, here are some places online where you can get online certifications:
Hubspot Academy — Email Marketing
Quintly — Social Media Analytics
Skillshop with Google — Google Ads Certification
I am definitely going to try these certification courses myself! It's a great addition to your resume as well.
#5: All the Aldi tips & tricks
In case you didn't know, Aldi is a German brand, so everything, including their chocolate, is held to a higher standard and is super high quality.
A lot of Aldi chocolate, especially from Moser Roth, is Fair Trade, meaning it helps producers in developing countries achieve sustainable and equitable trade relationships.
This Aldi employee in the TikTok video also recommended the Choceur Peanut Butter Cups, and states that they are creamier than your Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Let me know if you try any of these Aldi chocolate go-tos!
#6: How to find all the side hustles
Have you ever heard of Side Hustle Stack? Me neither, until I saw this TikTok. Side Hustle Stack is essentially a resource to find platform-based work, which is great for small businesses and individuals trying to thrive online.
I'll let the site speak for itself and link it here.
#7: Google Chrome productivity hack
I have actually been using this trick ever since I saw this TikTok! It has truly helped with consolidating my life in tabs on Google Chrome.
All you have to do is right-click on the tab in Google Chrome and scroll down to “Add tab to group” You can either add it to an existing group, or make it a part of a new group with a customized color to identify it.
Let me know if you try this Google Chrome tab trick!
#8: How to get any Adobe application for free
As an Adobe user and lover, I love offers for their products.
First, go to Reddit.com and go to the subreddit R/AdobeZii. The rest of the process can be followed on the Tiktok linked below. Please make sure to follow the installation process properly!
#9: How to prep a new chalkboard
I didn't know that you had to prep a new chalkboard, but I'm glad to learn about it now!
First, put your chalk on its side and rub the whole board with it. After doing it in one orientation of the chalkboard, turn it on its side and do the same thing with the chalk, but going a different direction.
After this chalk coverage, clean the chalkboard with a wet towel and one Clorox wipe. Now you can erase everything! How cool is that trick?
#10: Organize your Spotify music
I think I saved the best trick for last! This is how you can organize your Spotify music. According to their website, here is how it works:
Select what music you'd like to organize: Your Saved Music; Music you've added to playlists; Music in playlists you follow; or all of it.
Click on Organize your Music. If this is your first visit, you will be asked to ...
Login with your Spotify credentials. Organize Your Music will place all of your tracks into a number of bins. There are Genres, Moods, Decades, Popularity and more.
Pick one of the bins. You can view all the properties of the tracks in that bin. You can plot the tracks. You can listen to previews of the songs in the bin.
Select tracks that you want to add to a playlist. Selected tracks will be added to your Staging Playlist. When you are happy with the staging playlist you can
Save the staging playlist to Spotify.
Let me know if you end up trying this music sorting trick!
