Get Inspired by ABC's!

We typically don’t take the time to notice the little things throughout our day that make us smile, or simply better our mood. I wanted to start a series on my blog including the little things that inspire me throughout the day.

[A]lways having a welcome party

Whenever I have a long and stressful day, the first thing I look forward to is coming home. My welcome party (including my fiancé and my dog) is what I’ve been looking for all day, and nothing feels better than seeing a wagging tail when you walk in the door. Whether it is an animal, a person, or a scent—you can have your own welcome party!! Stepping into another environment grants a different perspective for our daily lives. The more you can personalize it, the more it will benefit you!

[B]eing able to recognize body confidence

Confidence is an aspect that I have been struggling with for most of my life, and body confidence is only a small portion of it. Don’t get me wrong, I am still struggling with my body confidence, but being able to recognize it during small moments is HUGE for me. For example, after a shower I typically look at my reflection. Most times that I look in the mirror, there is a vibe of negativity floating around. With society’s constant nagging about the “perfect body image”, I always thought that I was only skin-and-bones. But after much retrospection, I have realized that there is no body perfect image—everybody and every BODY is different. Now I am trying to look at my reflection with a positive perspective; accepting my small curves, my little pudge on my stomach, and my big smile are not a daunting task any more.

[C]elebrating birthdays

This past weekend, I got the chance to celebrate my fiance’s 26th birthday. And every year his birthday comes around, and doesn’t enjoy it. I mean, who doesn’t like celebrating their own birthday? It may be because some people see birthdays as a public celebration, instead of a personal one. Your birthday is about YOU being born, is it not? We can flip the script of celebrating birthdays by doing things we want to do! One of my oldest birthday traditions is hopping in the car and traveling to all the food vendors that offer free birthday treats and food! I typically don’t like daunting the birthday crown around, so I fill my birthday with all things and food that I want on that day.
